History

March 1953 Started up by Shozo Yatsuzuka as a sole proprietorship called Yatsuzuka Shoten. Began manufacturing brass alloy ingots for Takaoka copperware in the Funaba cho of Takaoka.
September 1963 New plant built at present location in Rokke, Takaoka, due to expansion. All operations moved to the new site and name changed to Yatsuzuka Shoten Fukuda Alloys.
August 1965 Sales division spun off to form YATSUZUKA METALS INDUSTRY CO.,LTD., capitalized at 3 million yen. Business infrastructure and distribution channels expanded and strengthened.
November 1971 Installation of a 2-ton low-frequency induction furnace due to expansion of operations in order to increase manufacturing capacity and production efficiency.
August 1974 Installation of additional 3-ton low-frequency induction furnace to expand output of brass and bronze ingot products.
October 1978 Installation of new tilting crucible furnace and manufacturing of aluminum alloy ingots for castings commenced.
October 1980 Purchasing division spun off to form EIGHT METAL CO.,LTD., capitalized at 30 million yen, to assist transition from sole proprietorship to corporation.
November 1982 Installation of additional 4-ton reverberating furnace and manufacture of aluminum alloy ingots for die casting commenced.
April 1992 New copper alloy ingot manufacturing plant completed. Two 5-ton high-frequency induction furnaces and continuous casting facilities installed to modernize and expand production capacity.
August 1995 Capital of YATSUZUKA METALS INDUSTRY CO.,LTD. increased to 10 million yen.
October 1995 Yatsuzuka Shoten acquired by EIGHT METAL CO.,LTD. to stabilize and strengthen business base and undertake purchasing of non-ferrous metal scrap and manufacture of re-melted ingots.
July 2000 Installation of compact high-frequency induction furnace for testing of special compound materials, also making it possible to cater to small-lot demand.
November 2004 Installation of additional CCD emission spectroscopic analysis unit to accelerate materials analysis and enable analysis of new products with move to lead-free bronze alloys and cadmium-free brass alloys.
December 2006 Completion of second copper alloy ingot manufacturing plant and installation of two additional new-model 4-ton high-frequency induction furnaces to expand production capacity and raise quality in order to supply products of uniform composition and shorten turnaround.
September 2007 Certified to the ISO9001:2000 international standard on quality management systems.
December 2009 Installation of additional Vacuum-type emission spectroscopic analyzer to accelerate analysis of products and materials.
June 2010 Renewal of two 3t low-frequency induction furnaces with two 4t high-frequency induction furnaces to increase production capacity.
March 2013 To celebrate 60 years since establishment, the company's employees took a four-day, three-night trip to Okinawa and Ishigaki Island. An anniversary ceremony was held there on the first day of the trip.
October 2013 EIGHT METAL CO., LTD. becomes a fully owned subsidiary of YATSUZUKA METALS INDUSTRY CO., LTD.
October 2014 EIGHT METAL CO., LTD. photovoltaic power plant completed, and begins sale of electricity.
December 2014 Withdrawal from aluminum alloy melting business.
July 2015 EIGHT HOLDINGS CO., LTD. established, and YATSUZUKA METALS INDUSTRY CO., LTD. becomes its fully owned subsidiary.
January 2018 Installation of an automatic ingot stacking robot with a three-dimensional vision sensor, for the purpose of improving the work environment and efficiency.
